BOOM: James Woods Just Hit NFL With 7-Words Anthem-Loving Americans Have Waited to Hear

Conservative actor James Woods has been very vocal about his stance on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and other sports figures who wish to protest the national anthem.

Woods, 69, who is unabashedly patriotic, told a TMZ reporter that he was effectively done with the NFL.

“They can do what they want, they can say whatever they think and I respect their constitutional right to do it,” Woods told a reporter who asked him about Kaepernick’s protest.

“I hope they respect my constitutional right never to watch the NFL again,” Woods added. “I will never watch the NFL again. Ever.”

When asked if there was anything the NFL could do to possibly change his mind, Woods’ reply was a little less than optimistic: “I don’t know, cause I’m never gonna watch them again, so how would I know?”

Woods’ decision made a powerful statement, and you can bet the NFL was hoping his decision not to watch any of their games doesn’t catch on.

Woods has already expressed his opinion regarding Kaepernick’s decision to protest the national anthem via social media, and it was blunt, calling for his followers to boycott Kaepernick’s sponsors.

One of his followers responded with a list of NFL sponsors, “to star(t) with.”

It doesn’t look like this issue is going to go away anytime soon — not if Woods has anything to do with it.

Woods, like many others, wants these players and the NFL to know that, while they are of course free to express their opinions, they are not free from the consequences of those opinions.

Hitting them in the pocketbook might make them think twice about bringing politics into the game of football.
