Student senators at Duquesne University were trying to prevent the addition of Chick-fil-A to the campus this coming fall, claiming that they “fear” for the safety of their LGBTQ classmates, Campus Reform reported.
Of course, liberals have hated the fast food chain ever since it was revealed that the corporation had given money to organizations that were against same-sex marriage back in 2012. Because the corporation had the audacity to at some point disagree with them on one issue, they can’t stand to even look at its restaurants, apparently.
They’ve never forgiven the company, and for that reason Duquesne University Student Senator Niko Martini proposed a resolution on March 26 to keep the restaurant off the list of additional options for campus dining.
“Chick-fil-A has a questionable history on civil rights and human rights,” he said in a statement to The Duquesne Duke, a university news source. “I think it’s imperative the university chooses to do business with organizations that coincide with the (university’s) mission and expectations they give students regarding diversity and inclusion.”
In other words — they don’t comply with the liberal agenda, and I want it gone.
Fortunately, the resolution was ultimately dismissed, but the student government did agree to consider a resolution that would permit a vetting process for the Chick-fil-A location, according to Campus Reform.
Don’t worry, guys, you can still breathe down their necks every step of the way.
Martini’s efforts have been lauded by the university’s Gay-Straight Alliance, of which Martini was a member of the executive board, according to The Daily Caller.
GSA president Rachel Coury said that she has “tried very hard within the last semester and a half to promote this safe environment for the LGBTQ+ community. So I fear that with the Chick-fil-A being in Options (an on-campus food court) that maybe people will feel that safe place is at risk,” according to The Duke.
Right, because of all the assaults by Chick-fil-A employees on anyone with whom they disagree.
