Broncos GM and Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway is urging Congress to go ahead and confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
In a letter sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Elway threw his support behind the Denver native.
“It is with my highest recommendation that I support Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the United States Supreme Court,” Elway said.

“A native of Colorado, Neil has demonstrated tremendous intelligence, character and fairness while serving for more than a decade on the United States Courts of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit,” added Elway.
The Broncos’ GM also praised Gorusch for his “integrity and sound moral compass.”
“Neil is a big Denver Broncos fan, and I can tell you that I’m a big fan of his,” he continued, “I look forward to having Neil Gorsuch, one of our own from the great state of Colorado, as the next Supreme Court Justice.”
Confusion arose when people pointed out that Elway’s letter had the appearance of being on the NFL team’s official letterhead.

Well, I was on the fence, but John Elway endorses him? Surely he’s qualified to be on the Supreme Court. https://t.co/DxWtmqckcY

However, Patrick Smyth, the Broncos’ VP of public relations, clarified Monday that Elway’s letter was written on the Hall of Fame quarterback’s personal letterhead. He added that Elway’s endorsement is independent of the team.
Not Broncos letterhead. Was written on John’s personal letterhead (see left margin) & his endorsement is independent of the Denver Broncos. https://t.co/9DYZS0Aarq

Elway was one of the notable figures who attended Trump’s inauguration on Jan 20th. He also attended a dinner for donors hosted by Trump the night before.
