O'Reilly Gets New Job Offer… Look Out Fox News

Bill O’Reilly made his first major media appearance following his ousting from the Fox News Channel in an interview with Glenn Beck on his eponymous radio program Friday morning and could very well already have his next job lined up for him — if he wants it.

The Washington Post reported — as snarkily as possible — that Beck offered O’Reilly a prime gig at his start-up media empire TheBlaze, though Beck conceded that he likely couldn’t match the same sort of financial benefits offered up by major corporate media outlets. He nevertheless suggested they “could unite our powers for good.”

Perhaps alluding to the current financial struggles of his own network, Beck jokingly stated, “I’ll pay you in sandwiches like you can’t believe,” according to TheBlaze.

O’Reilly also refused to confirm or deny media reports that he had received a $25 million severance package from Fox News: “Why would you take anything that’s printed in the media seriously? Why would you believe it?”

According to the New York Daily News, the first part of Beck and O’Reilly’s interview focused on the “hit job” that saw him removed from his 20-year-long reign as the prime time ratings king at Fox.

“This was a hit,” O’Reilly said, going on to insinuate that he would be pursuing legal challenges to his ousting in the near future. “In the weeks to come, we’re gonna be able to explain some of it.”

“It has to do with destroying voices that the far left and the organized left-wing cabal doesn’t like,” stated O’Reilly. “That’s the general tone. I can’t get specific. There’s a lot of legality here.”

While it was unclear whether Beck was seriously offering O’Reilly a position at TheBlaze or just joking with an old friend and colleague, there is no doubt that the addition of O’Reilly to the network’s lineup would attract viewers and subscribers, exactly what Beck needs more of right now.

As to whether O’Reilly would accept working for essentially peanuts, or in this case “sandwiches,” that remained to be seen.
