President Trump Just Honored Martin Luther King Jr. in a Major Way!

President Donald Trump, the man Democrats have been calling a racist for roughly two years now, signed legislation turning the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr. into a national historic park.

It is the first park of its kind in the state of Georgia.

Dr. Alveda King, niece of the great civil rights leader, joined the President aboard Air Force One as he signed the bill. It was sponsored by Rep. John Lewis.

White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley told reporters, “Through his life and work, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made America more just and free.”

“This important historical park tells his story, and this bill will help ensure that the park continues to tell Dr. King’s story for generations to come.”

The signing of the bill means the area has been upgraded from a ‘historic site’ to a ‘historic park,’ while expanding the territory.

Alveda King rejected claims that Trump was a racist early on in his first term in office, arguing that “fake news” was being peddled to African-Americans online and in other venues.

It’s going to take quite a Herculean effort on Lewis’s part to thank the President for passing the legislation he sponsored, especially considering he recently boycotted the opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum because Trump dared to speak at the event.

Trump describes Martin Luther King Jr. as “a man who I’ve studied and watched and admired for my entire life.”
