South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, the only black Republican in the Senate, expertly shot down a Twitter troll who on Wednesday referred to him as a “house n***a.”
The social media user, identified only as “Simone,” used the derogatory term to refer to Scott and William Smith, a former aide to Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), after the two black men testified in support of the Alabama lawmaker’s appointment as attorney general Wednesday.
Rather than get into a back-and-forth debate with the disagreeable Twitter troll, who has since deleted her account, Scott decided to correct Simone’s inflammatory message by informing her that he actually works in the Senate — not the House of Representatives.
Because the troll deleted her original tweet attacking Tim Scott, I will gently remind her that the Internet is Forever. pic.twitter.com/YQSssEikSo

When one person came to Scott’s defense, calling the social media user’s tweet “disgusting,” the South Carolina lawmaker shared his personal motto when he’s faced with impolite adversaries.
