Steve Wynn Removes Designers Products From Hotel After He Insults Melania Trump

Another fashion designer has learned the hard way that it doesn’t pay to insult the incoming first lady.

Designer and director Tom Ford appeared on “The View” in December and said that he’d been asked to dress Melania Trump years ago but that he declined, stating that she wasn’t necessarily “his image.” He also said that, other than the fact that he was a Democrat and voted for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, his clothes were simply too expensive for any first lady to wear.

It should be noted, however, that Michelle Obama did wear one of Ford’s gown in 2011 when she visited Queen Elizabeth in Buckingham Palace.

In an interview with “Fox & Friends” that aired Wednesday, President-elect Donald Trump was asked about Ford’s comments and said that neither he nor his wife had ever approached the designer about wearing any of his clothing.

Trump said that he and Melania don’t even like Ford’s designs.

Trump added that hotel owner Steve Wynn called him and said he thought what Ford said was so terrible that Wynn removed all of the designer’s clothing from of his hotel.

A representative for the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel told the U.K. Daily Mail on Wednesday, “Wynn Las Vegas confirms it removed the Tom Ford line of cosmetics and sunglasses from the resort this past weekend.”

That’s hitting him where it hurts. Maybe Ford will think twice before insulting Melania Trump again.

Watch Ford’s interview on “The View” below:

Ford is another example of a liberal who found it necessary to insult Melania Trump, but he has learned that it’s not always good business to do so.

Some designers have said they would boycott the soon-to-be first lady, but for every designer throwing a hissy fit, there are plenty more who would love the opportunity to see their clothing on her.
