As Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton continues to limit her media exposure on the campaign trail, either to hide her health issues or to hide from the ever-present cloud of scandal, many surrogates have hit the trail on her behalf.
One of those who recently spoke on her behalf was first lady Michelle Obama, and while Obama may be mouthing words of support now, she was singing a different tune during the 2008 election cycle.
An old news clip was recently posted to social media and was making the rounds, in which the eventual first lady explained to voters at that time why they should choose Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton.
“One of the things, the important aspect of this race is role-modeling what good families should look like,” Obama said. “And my view is that if you can’t run your own house, you certainly can’t run the White House. Ya can’t do it.”
Many have taken this comment to be an allusion to the infidelity committed by President Bill Clinton against his wife, which she seemingly permitted him to get away with.
This quote also reminded us of what President Obama once said about Clinton during the 2008 race regarding her capability and qualifications to be the president.
“She will say anything and change nothing. Hillary can’t be trusted and isn’t qualified to be president,” Obama said.
It is amazing how much things have changed over the past eight years — and yet shockingly remained the same.
Hillary Clinton remains an unqualified and untrustworthy individual who is the exact opposite of what a role model should be. She shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the White House, much less seated in the Oval Office for the next four years.
