Clay Higgins, also known as “Cajun John Wayne,” is a former captain of the St. Landry Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana. He is known for his “Crime Stoppers” videos where he shames criminals who are on the run from the law.
Clay Higgins addresses one criminal, Darren Carter, by saying: “Men like us? We do dumbbell presses with weights bigger than you!” Turns out, people loved Higgins’s attitude! He has been elected to a congressional seat in the 3rd District of Louisiana, representing the southwest and south central part of the state, as per Red State Watcher.
In his first bid for office, Higgins defeated the Louisiana politician, Scott Angelle, by 12 points.
The 3rd District race was likely to go to Angelle, a Republican member of the Public Service Commission who has been a public official for 30 years.
But Higgins — the face of the Crime Stoppers videos as a sheriff’s captain — gained support because of American’s disenchantment with career politicians. He defeated Angelle with a fourth of the money and a simple organization.
Higgins resigned from his position in the police force due to the controversy his videos were stirring up among the liberals—he resigned as a “matter of conscience” after being asked to tone down the rhetoric used in his videos.
“I begin each day on bended knee, but I kneel to our savior,” he said, via CBS News. “I will not kneel to violent street gangs; I will not kneel to murderers or the parents who raised them. I will not kneel to a discredited wannabe black activist that doesn’t really have the best interest of his people in mind. I will not kneel to bureaucrats from Washington, Baton Rouge, or anywhere else.”
He is a proud American and Republican who refuses to give in to the criminals and weak individuals of this nation, and the people saw greatness in him. He wasn’t a politician either, yet now he is victorious over a career politician. Sound familiar?
The American people are looking to their own to run this country and to bring it back to a time of honesty and justice. The Democrats have made a mess of things, and now the Republicans are stepping up and providing a change the people so desperately need.
Higgins refused to back down from his ways of speaking to criminals—he called them out brutally and forcibly because that is what it takes at times to get criminals to come out of hiding. If you bait them enough, eventually they will bite.
Just because liberals take the soft approach, due to their sensitive natures, doesn’t mean that others should. And right now, heavy hitters are what this country needs to stay afloat. Sometimes, harshness is the key to success.
This country can’t be run by snowflakes with sensitive natures, and it is clear that the American people no longer want people like that in their public offices. So, we elected Donald Trump as our next president, and the people of Louisiana elected Higgins as a member of the congressional seats.
“I would die rather than sacrifice my principles,” Higgins stated, via The Blaze. “I would give my life. I’d leave my wife without a husband, my children without a daddy rather than kneel to the very forces of evil that I have so long stood against.”
