Lou Dobbs wants Donald Trump to be successful, so he offered a few words of warning in an effort to help the President-Elect avoid a possible trap. The Fox News Business host does not seem to trust at least one prominent member of the Republican establishment in Washington.
“Paul Ryan has made clear to all to his fellow Republicans, to the nation, what he is and what he’s capable of. And who he is, and there’s no cure for that,” Lou Dobbs said during a recent episode of his Fox News Business show.
“I sure do hope I’m wrong about all this. I just don’t have no evidence whatsoever that I am,” Dobbs continued.
Paul Ryan went from being one of Donald Trump’s biggest GOP detractors to his most excited cheerleader in a matter of days. Ryan was as giddy as a kid on Christmas after realizing Trump had won the presidential race and the Republicans would control both Congress and the White House.
“The rest of it is up to Ryan. We’ll see,” Lou Dobbs continued when lamenting about the fair weather friend the House Speaker has been to Donald Trump.
Ryan is currently running unopposed for the House Speaker post. So far, the President-Elect has not voiced any desire, at least publicly, to have the speakership be stripped away from its current holder.
During Lou Dobbs’s warning to Donald Trump, he reminded everyone of the snake poem the Republican nominee read several times while out on the campaign trail. A video of the old song created from the poem quickly went viral after Trump began referencing it while running for the Oval Office.
The poem was written by Oscar Brown. Here’s a few excerpts from it:
“On her way to work one morning
Down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew
‘Oh well,’ she cried, ‘I’ll take you in and I’ll take care of you’
‘Take me in oh tender woman’
‘Take me in, for heaven’s sake.’”
After the woman carefully nursed the snake back to health, it showed its true colors. Dobbs is afraid Paul Ryan will do the same thing to Donald Trump.
“’I saved you,’ cried that woman
‘And you’ve bit me even, why?’
‘You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die’
‘Oh shut up, silly woman,’ said the reptile with a grin
‘You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in.’”
